This Beauty Product Is Scary Good

Rasika Welankiwar

Just because Halloween is over doesn’t mean the fright fest needs to end. The perfect trick to keep your friends and family shaking in their boots? The Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask. When applied, it is truly terrifying. (See below.)

What lends to the mask’s freaky nature is a Stretch-to-Fit Technology, as described on Garnier’s website, that allows the tissue material to better adhere to the natural contours of your face. The increased hydration and smoother skin I notice after just two uses is thanks to a vitamin C–packed serum, in which the mask is pre-soaked.

But what I find spookiest about the mask is that it's gentle enough for even supersensitive skin. Take it from me, a girl who carries a Cortizone roller ball in her purse. Who knows when my skin will react badly to, say, a lemon wedge or something in the air on Flatbush Avenue near St. Marks. (Mindy Kaling: I feel you.)

Plus, when you Instagram a pic of yourself wearing the mask—because, seriously, how unsettling is this?—your friends will be thanking you for the nightmares. And upon walking into the living room, you may even get to hear your husband let out a little yelp.
