Per the Daily Mail, "Despite her key position in the Spanish Royal Family, the daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia is set to be deliberately 'treated like a normal' student during her university tenure."

The university's rector told the outlet, "The royal household has made it very easy for us. Nothing changes."

Notably, according to the newspaper, "Despite their key roles in the Spanish monarchy, both Leonor and [her sister] Sofia have been deliberately kept out of the limelight—with a particular emphasis placed on their education by their parents."

In her book Divide and Rule: Royal Women and Their Battles, royal author Catherine Mayer revealed a hilarious moment in which Queen Elizabeth shocked Prince Philip.

"When the couple reunited ahead of a joint state visit to Portugal, [Philip] found [Elizabeth] and her entourage wearing false beards, mimicking the real one he had grown," Mayer shared. "Nothing says a relationship is on track like the ability to make each other laugh."

Broadcaster and writer Gyles Brandreth shared his own account of the incident involving the late Queen's fake beard in the book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait.

"They were reunited at Lisbon's military airport," the author wrote. "The scene was a memorable one."

Brandreth continued, "During part of the tour, Philip had grown a full set of naval whiskers. Photographs of the bearded Adonis had found their way back to London."

Not missing a trick, Queen Elizabeth hatched quite the plan to surprise her husband.

Per Brandreth, "When Philip, now clean-shaven in anticipation of the state visit to Portugal, bounded up the steps of The Queen's plane in Lisbon, he was greeted by an extraordinary sight: his wife and her entire entourage, sitting in their seats, all sporting false ginger beards!"

The author shared that the Royal Family "is a family that is fond of practical jokes," and it seems Queen Elizabeth was often the ringleader.

Per Brandreth, "Minutes later, when the royal couple emerged from the plane, both were beaming, and an eagle-eyed reporter, with a sentimental streak, was sure he spotted a tell-tale smudge of lipstick on the duke's cheek."

Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, has continually kept his late sister's memory alive following her untimely death in August 1997. Now, Earl Spencer has written a new book, which he believes Diana would have liked.

In an Instagram post shared on September 11, Spencer revealed the cover of his new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.

When Princess Diana died in a 1997 car crash, she was with her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed, who was also killed in the tragic accident. But less than two months before her death, Diana was dating another man, heart surgeon Hasnat Khan. Their under-the-radar relationship provided a dose of normalcy for the princess, and during an inquest into her death, Khan shared some rare insights into their time together.

In Edward White’s book Dianaworld: An Obsession, the author notes that Diana’s involvement with Khan “was more mundane, uneventful, and enriching than any that she ever had.” The couple met when she was visiting a friend’s husband in a London hospital, and for nearly two years, they carried on with their “discreet” relationship. But “Khan had no taste for the glare of global publicity in which Diana lived,” as White wrote.

According to the surgeon, the late princess broke up with him just over a month before her August 1997 death, as he wrote in a statement shared during the official death inquest. Diana had recently returned from a vacation with Dodi and his father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, and although Khan wasn’t aware of her connection to Dodi, he worried about her association with Al-Fayed's family.

"I remember saying to her at the time, 'You are dead,' meaning her reputation was dead,” Khan stated. “I said this because I was sure that it was someone from Mohamed Al Fayed's group and that was how I felt about anyone involved with him."

Even then, the Harrods owner—who was posthumously accused of sexually assaulting hundreds of women after a 2024 documentary aired—had a questionable reputation. However, Khan said that because of Dodi’s family wealth and connections, he felt that Princess Diana “finally realized that Al Fayed could give her all the things I could not.”

"He had money and could provide the necessary security,” Khan added in his statement. “You never see Al Fayed without six or seven bodyguards."

Sadly, the security she had the night of her death failed her, as Princess Diana’s former bodyguard recently told Marie Claire.

Ken Wharfe, who resigned from his role protecting the princess in 1993, said he feels her lack of proper police security "ultimately led to the appalling accident in Paris in 1997."

“She was then relying on security which, in my view, was unprofessional and lacked the level of planning, coordination and communication that would have provided the best possible protection," he said. "Sadly, it simply wasn't there.”

R.F. Kuang’s fascination with language has made her a literary superstar. Her bestselling works—from historical epics with complex magic systems to a biting contemporary satire of the publishing industry—explore the ways words can be warped and co-opted in search of power, fame, and influence. For her latest release, Kuang turned to a place that can strike fear in the heart of any linguaphile: the immersion classroom.

Taipei Story, Kuang’s first contemporary coming-of-age novel, follows Yale student Lily through her summer attending an intensive Chinese-language program in Taiwan. The first half of the book is a travelogue of fumbling miscommunications inside and outside of the classroom, as Lily navigates inscrutable teachers, roommate woes, and that diasporic dissonance of feeling like an outsider in her ancestral homeland. In a way, the fictional Lily is walking in her creator’s footsteps; to write the novel, Kuang pulled from her own study-abroad era in the summer of 2023.

“While I went to many of the same places and did many of the same activities as Lily did, her reactions and interpretations are wholly invented,” Kuang tells Marie Claire. “I wanted to explore loss and alienation from the perspective of someone much younger and worse equipped to deal with it all.”

Though Kuang is best known for revitalizing the “dark academia” novel, with its innately gifted protagonists, the Cambridge, Oxford, and soon-to-be Yale graduate embraced the natural conflict that misapprehension brings for her latest novel. “You don’t speak the language. You keep blundering and violating cultural norms,” she describes. “You don’t know the right way to interpret anything you’re witnessing. All of that friction is hilarious.”

Kuang counts these types of novels, ones that explore the gap between intention and comprehension that foreign-language speakers face, among her biggest literary influences. The big question of Taipei Story is whether Lily will ever cross that chasm. When her grandfather passes away in the middle of her program—as Kuang’s did in real life—she has to parse through her family’s unspoken history without the complete fluency she’d been chasing. The lesson that comes from this struggle is one that Kuang would give to her young self today.

“Miscommunication is inevitable, and so is falling flat on your face,” she says. “The only way to get better at a language is to make mistakes over and over again, so just put yourself out on a limb and learn to laugh at yourself.”

Who in the cast will return for 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' season 6?

Season 6 will bring some major shake-ups to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Original cast member Whitney Leavitt has confirmed that she will not return to the series for season 6. The influencer turned Broadway star announced the news in May 2026, before marking the release of season 5 with a farewell tribute to her "forever momtok."

Leavitt opened up about her departure during her June 2026 appearance on Marie Claire's Nice Talk. "This time is very different," she said, comparing the exit to her previous #MomTok hiatuses. "The times I'd left in the past were [because of] frustration and anger. It just wasn't a healthy way to leave. This time, I'm leaving with gratitude. Like, my cup is full. I don't feel like there's anything more for me there."

Meanwhile, it looks like the series' most controversial member is sticking around. A week before season 5's release, Page Six reported that Taylor Frankie Paul will return for SLOMW season 6 "with the full support of ABC and Disney." An insider also told the outlet that Taylor has been "working on herself" and "dealing with personal issues" during her hiatus from the show.

It's currently unknown whether Taylor Frankie Paul will rejoin the main cast, or if she'll return in a guest role.

Hulu has yet to confirm season 6's main cast, but it's very likely that all of the show's stars will return. This includes Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, and Miranda Hope. Jen Affleck has also been spotted filming season 6, but it's unclear how much screen time she'll get, since she has a lot going on. (Jen's currently pregnant with her fourth child, and has reportedly joined the spinoff The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.)

It's also (unfortunately) likely that the husbands of #DadTok will return for season 6. However, there's a possibility that the men who are publicly on the outs with the women—including Dakota, Jordan Ngatikaura, and Chase McWhorter—will receive less screentime.

Though nothing's been confirmed, the streets are saying that #MomTok has found some new members. Weeks after the season 6 renewal announcement, the show's stars were spotted filming in the Italian Riviera for the franchise's first international cast trip. It seems that the women were joined by two new Utah-based influencers: Kate Racker and Sarah Beeston.

Sarah Beeston may already be a familiar face to viewers who frequent certain corners of the internet. She already boasts 4.5 million followers on TikTok, while her family YouTube channel, the Beeston Fam, has over 2.9 million subscribers. Meanwhile, Kate Racker has already been in the background of SLOMW for years, as Chase McWhorter's on-again, off-again girlfriend. We'll have to see whether either of the women will step into the spotlight on season 6.

What will 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' season 6 be about?

After five episodes, one for every week of filming the show got through before the pause, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 only dedicates three minutes to the aftermath. Between clips of TikTok speculation and courthouse(!) footage, each of the show's stars (minus Taylor) sits down for confessionals where they confirm that #MomTok is in shambles amid the rift in the friend group. The final question posed by season 5—where do we go from here—is answered by a simple graphic: "To be continued."

Thanks to #MomTok's ubiquity on social media, there's already several clues of what viewers will see in season 6. In addition to the Milan trip, some developments in the casts' lives includes Jen's aforementioned pregnancy and move to California, Layla coming out as bisexual and beginning a new relationship, and Miranda also seemingly starting a new romance (with the former fling of a Love Island USA star).

And of course, Taylor's drama will remain a subject of conversation whether or not she's on screen. (Just look at how much Demi Engemann is mentioned in season 5, despite not appearing once.) Though Taylor didn't film a final confessional for season 5, she did open up about feeling "betrayed" and "abandoned" by her friends, in a July 2026 post.

"I’ll be the first to admit my wrong doing’s in the MomTok mess. We’re at each other’s throats and I’m removing myself from responding to any of it moving forward," she wrote on Instagram. "I’ve never discredited them. I’ve always supported all of them in their success. I’ve had their backs in times of need. I became defensive and let my ego take over when I heard …what I heard. I never felt so betrayed and abandoned by so many people I would have stood by no matter how exhausted."

Months later, it seems that those complicated feelings still go both ways. As of season 5's release, only Taylor and Jessi have followed each other back on Instagram. Also, in the Page Six report about Taylor's return, an insider claimed that there's "still a lot of hurt” among the women following the production pause. "[Taylor] doesn’t necessarily feel like she’s been supported by the women throughout the last few months," they added. It's anyone's guess on whether #MomTok will survive this.

But Queen Elizabeth also made a much more personal change to her routine in the days following September 11.

On September 10, five weeks after the season premiere, the French house invited on-screen sisters Ella Rubin and Amélie Hoeferle to their Fashion Month soirée.

The New York Fashion Week newcomers looked like regulars at the launch party of Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu in SoHo. Rubin, who plays Annie, the teen drama's 17-year-old New York It-girl, channeled her character's minimalist closet in a silky little black dress. Her stylist, Emma Jade Morrison (who also works with Kaia Gerber, Sarah Pidgeon, and Zoey Deutch), paired the V-neck slip style with black-and-white cap-toe pumps: a Chanel staple as classic as the Première Watch she wears in the show.

Princess Kate spent a moving day at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Friday, September 11, visiting with staff and patients at the same facility where she was treated for cancer in 2024. For an event that was focused on spotlighting holistic cancer care, the future queen avoided a new outfit, instead relying on familiar pieces that sent a message about one of the hospital's new initiatives.

This season, it's all about moss green, with the muted shade showing up everywhere for fall 2026. But Kate skipped the trend and pulled an old favorite Suzannah dress out of her closet in a bright emerald green shade, wearing the British designer's Flippy Wiggle midi.

Kate also owns the vintage-inspired dress in a bright white version, and she debuted the green iteration in 2023 for a visit to the Anna Freud Centre during Mental Health Awareness Week.

At first, you might not connect the two events, but green is the official color for mental health awareness—a topic that the Princess of Wales explored during her day at Royal Marsden on Friday.

Kate recently raised money for the hospital's new Center for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery by completing the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. Princess Kate stressed the importance of “being able to give back” to the hospital where she was treated for cancer, making a surprise visit to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital on Friday, September 11. While meeting with patients and hospital staff, the princess also shared how, aside from chemotherapy, some unexpected therapies helped her recover.

The Princess of Wales, who announced she was in remission from an undisclosed form of cancer in January 2025, recently raised funds for the Royal Marsden by completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. After climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, the princess donated the money she raised to help support holistic cancer care to patients like herself.

“This is my small way of being able to give back and say thank you to you,” Kate said on Friday, according to the Times. “I had incredible care here and support from a huge team and I’m really really grateful on a personal level.”

The Princess of Wales, who announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, added that “the holistic care, the treatments and therapeutic support on the outside is so important.”

Princess Kate has often reflected on how being in nature has helped her mental health, and during her visit to the Royal Marsden, she noted that there are many pieces to the puzzle during cancer care.

“It makes a big difference, the impact of nature, the impact of good nutrition, good ongoing support around you when it’s really difficult to manage the trials and tribulations of medical treatments… it makes a big difference,” she shared.

“It made a big difference to me and it made a huge difference to lots of patients who I’ve spoken to. Thank you and well done,” the Princess of Wales added.

Although the amount of Kate's donation has not been announced, the funds are being used to help build a new Center for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery at the hospital—and the royal noted how the center will be “transformative not only for patients but for families too."

Royal families from around the world gathered in Oslo, Norway on Wednesday, September 9 for King Harald V’s funeral, and just two days later, his 94-year-old sister, Princess Astrid—who attended the moving services for her younger brother—has died.

"His Majesty the King has received with great sadness the news that Princess Astrid has passed away," a statement from the royal court read, with the new King Haakon calling her death a "great loss" for his family.

The princess, who was in a wheelchair at the funeral Wednesday, left a touching note for King Harald on a wreath laid in Oslo Cathedral. It read: "Thank you for everything we've had together. Your Astrid."

She featured in one of the most moving photos the palace released after the king's death, with the image showing Princess Astrid looking out a palace window as a sea of mourners gathered outside to leave tributes to her 89-year-old brother.

“At the age of 22, she had to step into the role of first lady when my grandmother, Crown Princess Märtha, passed away,” King Haakon said, per NRK.

“In her work, Princess Astrid was always particularly concerned with care and inclusion for the most vulnerable in society,” he shared, noting that his aunt “was very loyal and always performed her tasks with commitment, presence and an infectious spirit.”

"We learned a lot from her, and she was not afraid to speak up," King Haakon added.

Princess Astrid was married to Olympic sailor Johan Martin Ferner, who died in 2015, and they shared five children together. The palace has not released funeral details for the late royal at this time.

Between rarely missing a Knicks game during the 2026 NBA Finals and getting married last month to basketball star Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordyn Woods says, “I’m coming off of a really crazy time.” Meaning: She is taking New York Fashion Week as it comes. “Living in New York, it’s kind of just [like] getting dressed up to go in your backyard,” Woods, who moved to NYC from L.A. two years ago, tells Marie Claire. “If I was flying all the way here, I would've already had all my outfits together, but I don't know what I'm wearing this week at all.”

On September 10, Woods found out when she started Fashion Week like a true New Yorker: attending Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2027 runway show. Being the city's royalty right now (a title she earned after her “lucky” bag helped make Knicks history), she could have kicked off the season with any NYFW designer. But since Woods wanted her first Spring 2027 ‘fit to be “an ode to New York,” she chose an “effortless” look from Tommy Hilfiger, a label that sews the city’s Americana-cool aura into every preppy piece. “Tommy has been consistent with their brand since I was born, and so, just finding consistency and also being classic, that's what I'm looking for in my personal style,” she says.

So, when Woods arrived at the pre-NYFW fitting, she let Tommy Hilfiger take the reins. “I walked in…it was the only look on the [wardrobe rack]. I tried it on, it fit perfectly, and I went with it,” she says. “I didn't want to overthink it too much.” Her front row outfit was full of Tommy Hilfiger hallmarks—‘90s-style slim jeans and a vintage-looking raglan tee—but for her personal aesthetic, the espresso leather jacket was the most on-brand addition.

“I think it's about finding your identity within the brand that you're going [to NYFW] with,” she says, reflecting on her styling process for fashion shows. “Obviously, you want to support them and be on-trend with what they dress you in, but also it's about finding little pieces of yourself within the options that they have.”

Since her accessories—pointy burgundy pumps, bug-eye sunglasses, gold hoop earrings, and the Leopard-Print Calf-Hair Micro Bag—were on loan from the label, “it's really up to me to have fun with the glam part,” she says. “As long as I’m feeling good about my makeup and hair, then to me, whatever I have on will really radiate and shine.” Woods worried that “too much hair could be overpowering.” So, when it came down to sitting down in the chair, she slicked it back into a half-up look.

While this wasn’t her first time working with the brand—she and her sister, Jodie Woods, attended a NYFW brunch with Tommy Hilfiger in 2023—it was a full-circle moment for the ‘90s baby. “[The brand’s overalls] are something I would always find myself in,” Woods says.

She says she is drawn to the label’s signature style vocabulary—prep, sportswear, Americana colors—and how they all live together. “I have an alter ego, so there's a side of me that also loves to dress preppy on occasion, [especially] going to the US Open,” she says. “Even when I go golfing, I love just the collared shirts, the skirts, the kind of understated clothes—so I can relate to all of [Tommy Hilfiger’s different identities].”

She didn’t just RSVP to the Spring 2027 showcase as a Tommy Hilfiger loyalist, but as a fellow designer, too. (The model owns Woods by Jordyn, a three-year-old fashion brand.) “Any time anyone throws together a show, I know how much time and effort and work goes into it,” she says, adding that seeing their “vision come to life [helps me feel] inspired to maybe one day have my own show.”

On day one of NYFW, Woods leaned into the Tommy Hilfiger look, but that doesn't mean she won’t dip into her own closet for future outfits. “I have a fall collection coming out [next month], so I definitely want to start wearing it and showcasing it,” she says.

As to whether we’ll see another lucky bag viral moment from her during NYFW? Instead of feeling pressured to give the good luck charm a sister, Woods tries “to focus on the present because I feel like the best things in life aren't forced,” she says. “As an entrepreneur, I would love to be able to create a moment like that again, but it’s not something you can force. It has to just happen.”

The Spring/Summer 2027 season of New York Fashion Week began on September 10, but Ralph Lauren, Cult Gaia, and Coach got the party started early—on the eve of the calendar's first official shows. While everyone from Viola Davis to Cynthia Erivo gathered to see Ralph Lauren's "irreverent take on romance," Elle Fanning and Storm Reid celebrated Coach's 85th birthday by serving some of the best celebrity outfits, not cake.

Getting a head start on Fashion Month VIP attendance, Cult Gaia gave Katie Holmes, Madelyn Cline, and supermodel Iman free rein in the dress code department. New York Fashion Week is just getting started, and yet it has already become a Big Bag Convention. That's why it was so surprising to see Anne Hathaway with a tiny purple purse in tow on September 9, the eve of NYFW.

She arrives at Easton Prep only to find out there’s no girls’ crew team — so instead, she becomes the coxswain (the person responsible for setting the pace and strategy for his or her crew) for the dysfunctional boys’ team. Not only is she trying to steer her way through a new life and a new school, she also has to get her new team to trust her out on the water.

Martineau, 21, is a Toronto-born Canadian actress who starred in the Netflix murder-mystery series Bet, which was renewed for a second season. You've also seen her in the 2021 action-thriller film Kate, the Paramount+ coming-of-age comedy Honor Society, and as the younger version of Michelle Yeoh's character, Phillipa Georgiou, in the sci-fi series Star Trek: Section 31.

Teagan's mother, Ella, is also figuring out how to start over. After her husband’s alleged crimes come to light, she moves them both back to her childhood home in Eagle's Cove to start this next phase of their lives, and enrolls Teagan at Easton Prep.

Samuel Braun as Josh Regis

Josh is Easton Prep’s golden boy, a wealthy legacy student (his grandfather owns an airline) and the team’s coveted “stroke” seat. He isn’t exactly welcoming to Teagan when she joins the team, and they butt heads when he thinks he knows better than the new coxswain.

Kyle Clark as Cam Dillinger

Cam is a quiet but determined local who attends Easton on a rowing scholarship and refuses to be underestimated. His working-class background makes him very different from the posh Easton students he (and Teagan) interact with on- and offshore.

Prince William and Princess Kate are just trying to live a nice, quiet life in the countryside. Splitting their time between Forest Lodge in Windsor and Anmer Hall in Norfolk, their days are spent balancing school runs and sports with royal duties. They like to avoid drama and headlines, focusing on their work and their family life. In the midst of their peaceful existence, the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the United Kingdom surely shook things up.

“It was a shock to William and Kate,” a source close to the couple revealed to Us. “They’re still processing it, but their initial surprise has evolved.” While many are hoping that their new close proximity might spark some healing conversations between the two royal brothers, the source cautions that nothing is likely to change right away. “They’re taking a wait-and-see approach.”

“No one’s booking a table for two for William and Harry,” the source joked. Plenty would be happy to see Prince William and Prince Harry reunited, bonding again as brothers, but the rift between them is bigger than ever. “Everyone wants a reunion story, but it’s not something that’s in the cards,” the source said. “If fences do get mended, it will be a slow and private process, and on William’s terms.”

King Charles is reportedly “pleased” that his younger grandchildren now live nearby and “hopes for closer ties to his son.” The source stresses that the King “remains cautious about managing expectations” as everyone gets used to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big change. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are likely more focused on such a big move, settling their children into their new life in the United Kingdom. Several sources suggest the Sussex family have settled in the idyllic Cotswolds, with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet starting at a nearby private school.

Prince William and Princess Kate have been together for over 21 years, with the first hints of their blossoming romance reaching newspapers in 2005. While students at the University of St Andrews, Prince William and then-Kate Middleton enjoyed the privacy and relative anonymity of student life while they established their relationship. Still, once their relationship became public knowledge, the journalists and photographers descended.

Writing for Woman & Home, royal editor Duncan Larcombe recalls those early years of Prince William and Princess Kate’s relationship. Even in those early days, long before she would marry into the Royal Family, the palace was guiding her and her public image. “I first met Kate in 2005, when little—if anything—was known about the beautiful St Andrews undergraduate who had caught the eye of our future king,” Larcombe wrote. “At the time, she had been told that if journalists or photographers approached her, she needed to simply smile and act as though she was pleased to see them.”

"My late husband and I knew that this dress was something special," the consignor, who bought the dress during its original 1997 sale, said. "Princess Diana was walking into the worst night of her life and you would never know it to look at her. It went from a cocktail dress to a statement in the time it took to photograph her."

Princess Diana’s infamous fashion statement demonstrated a deep knowledge on her global impact. “Fashion can be a language when words fail or are simply not enough. Princess Diana understood that instinctively,” Morgane Halimi, Sotheby’s Global Head of Handbags and Fashion, said, according to Town and Country. “What makes this dress extraordinary is not merely that it was worn by the princess, nor that its appearance at the Serpentine event made headlines around the world. It is what it communicated.”

“On her own terms, Princess Diana turned the dress into one of the most powerful messages she ever made, during one of the most scrutinised and emotionally charged episodes of her life,” Halimi said. “What became a global viral moment—long before social media made the term mundane–also gave license to anyone, but especially women, to use fashion beyond adornment and much more intentionally and meaningfully.”

The consignors expertly surmised the impact of Princess Diana’s revenge dress, saying: "Thirty years on, you can say the words anywhere in the world and everyone knows exactly which dress you mean."

It has been six weeks since Katie Holmes soft-launched her rumored relationship with artist Jason Bard Yarmosky. Now, after attending black-tie galas and high-luxury brand events, the two not only made their New York Fashion Week show debut on September 9 but also wore similar slouchy-chic T-shirts.

K-drama fans, prepare for Hulu to dominate your fall watchlists. The streamer has spent the past year expanding its slate of can't-miss dramas and reality shows, from Perfect Crown to Battle of Fates to A Shop for Killers season 2. Today, Hulu continues its run with the return of its most-acclaimed crime thriller (and one of the most-expensive Korean dramas ever made).

Made In Korea made its debut last holiday season, introducing viewers to a twist-filled crime noir set in the turbulent 1970s. The first season followed two men on different sides of the law: Baek Kitae (played by Crash Landing on You's Hyun Bin), a morally-grey officer in the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA); and Jang Geonyoung (Jung Woo-sung), the dogged prosecutor determined to expose Kitae's dirty secrets.

Season 2 picks up nine years later, as Kitae reaches the height of his power and faces a surprising new foe: his younger brother, Baek Kihyun (played by Bloodhounds' Woo Do-hwan). The sibling rivalry adds an engrossing new layer to the three men's quests for power, amid a rapidly-changing political landscape.

Ahead of season 2's premiere on September 9, Hyun Bin and Woo Do-hwan sat down with Marie Claire in Seoul, South Korea, and teased the family drama at the center of the six-part installment.

"Kitae and Kihyun are brothers, but we also thought of them a lot as father and son," Woo said. "As the son, Kihyun [begins] the process of clashing with his father's thoughts."

Hyun added, "Kitae constantly sees Kihyun trying to do something else, trying to go in a different direction. Kitae experiences a lot of internal conflict, because he's a person with a firm belief that he must protect his family." Baek Kitae is a top agent at the KCIA, a government agency modeled after the American CIA which serves as the enforcing arm of a military dictatorship. By season 2, Kitae is next in line to run the agency. He also balances his government career with his off-hours work smuggling illegal drugs.

After hitting rock bottom at the end of season 1, Geonyoung will "transform from a man pursuing justice into one consumed by revenge," per The Korea Times.

Jung Woo-sung, 53, is one of Korea's most-famous leading men. He spent his career starring in blockbuster films like Musa (2001); A Moment to Remember (2004); The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008); Cold Eyes (2013); Beasts Clutching at Straws (2020); and 12.12: The Day (2023). After a few days of Mom Duties as Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis settled in to the school year, Princess Kate made a surprise appearance with Prince William to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. At a soccer stadium in Liverpool, the Prince and Princess of Wales teamed up to promote Prince William’s newly-launched toolkit, On Your Side. Developed by The Royal Foundation in partnership with the British Standards Institution and Chasing the Stigma, the toolkit provides a how-to guide to warning signs and supportive conversations to support those experiencing a mental health crisis.

The event struck a delicate balance between hopeful optimism and poignant remembrance for World Suicide Prevention Day. Princess Kate’s carefully-chosen outfit featured a “significant” pair of earrings with a special meaning. The Issy Star earrings are “a tribute to [the designer’s] beautiful cousin Issy Phipps who took her own life on the 29th of April 2023,” and have become a go-to earring choice for the Princess of Wales when marking suicide prevention and mental health causes. Since Princess Kate first wore the charity earrings in 2023, Issy Star has raised over $40,000 for mental health and suicide prevention charities.

In an exclusive interview with Hello, Issy Star founder Sophie McGown said that Princess Kate’s support “touched and resonated with so many people.” McGowan said, “I think what Kate did by wearing our earrings meant so much to us because it opened up a talking point about mental health and suicide.” The Princess of Wales’s earrings are more than just fashion fodder—they become a public message and a talking point. “The amount of people that contact us that are buying the earrings for people who are struggling or gifting them to someone who has just lost someone is numerous.”

Name any pre- or post-runway show emergency that editors might face at New York Fashion Week—blisters, a broken umbrella, or a dying phone battery—and you'll find the solution at your local Target. This season, however, before Katie Holmes (a New Yorker with season tickets to Michael Kors, Ulla Johnson, Fforme, and more) added Target to her NYFW route, she discovered a new addition to her style survival kit: a limited-edition shopping bag from the retailer, designed by Public School New York in time for the Spring 2027 showcases.

A few days before Fashion Month festivities began, Katie Holmes was spotted with a then-mysterious Target tote on her shoulder. With its canvas bullseye-branded body and tomato-red tint, this wasn't the retailer's $0.99 reusable style. And the Dawson's Creek star didn't style it as such, either.

The New York City-based brand that returned to NYFW this year after a seven-year hiatus wasn't alone in twisting the storied Target sling into an It bag. Holmes's fellow New York style setters like Venus Williams and Chloë Sevigny designed their takes on Target totes, too.

Perhaps inspired by the style tournament still happening at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Williams layered black athlete-approved netting over the brand's white bullseye logo.

Royal women from around the world wore traditional pearl jewelry to honor King Harald of Norway at his funeral on Wednesday, September 9, including Princess Anne, who joined Prince William for the services at Oslo Cathedral.

While the Prince of Wales attended as an official representative of his father, King Charles, the funeral had a more personal significance for the Princess Royal, who has served as a godmother to the new Norwegian monarch, King Haakon, since his 1973 christening. For the funeral, Princess Anne wore a classic pair of pearl drop earrings, a choice that Eddie Le Vian, CEO of Le Vian jewelers, told Marie Claire dates back to Anne’s great-great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria.

“Pearls have spoken the language of royal mourning for generations,” Le Vian says. “Since Queen Victoria mourned Prince Albert, pearls have come to evoke tears, remembrance and dignity. Unlike other royal guests, Anne appeared to skip a pearl necklace in favor of a silk scarf, and instead wore a diamond-studded gold brooch with decades of significance.

Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia, Founder of Abelini, tells Marie Claire that the Princess Royal’s gold ribbon brooch was “a very deliberate” decision for the occasion. “The princess has dozens of options in her collection, so reaching for a brooch she has worn consistently for over fifty years tells you this wasn't a casual choice,” Rakholia says.

The brooch itself dates back to the mid-20th century and takes the form of a loosely knotted bow, set with around a dozen diamonds. An 18-year-old Princess Anne first wore the piece in 1969 at a Buckingham Palace meeting with Apollo 8 commander Colonel Frank Borman—and the pin has been in regular rotation for close to 60 years.

“To still be reaching for the same piece nearly six decades later says an enormous amount about what it means to her personally, far more than any high-value piece could,” Rakholia says. The Princess Royal has worn the brooch for events such as her 70th birthday portrait and at Ascot, but also for numerous solemn engagements, like Anzac Day services honoring fallen soldiers and an event marking the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Crete.

"That's the pattern that stands out to me,” Rakholia shares. “This isn't a brooch she reaches for on lighter occasions. Time and again, it appears at moments of remembrance and loss specifically, whether that's a wreath-laying for fallen soldiers in the spring or, now, the funeral of a head of state she has a personal connection to.”

Nilesh notes that the brooch's diamond setting adds sparkle without being inappropriate at solemn occasions. "Diamonds against a dark coat, which is what she's worn it with here, create a soft contrast rather than anything flashy. It's the kind of piece that reads as respectful rather than decorative, which matters enormously at a funeral."

Royal families from around the globe gathered to remember King Harald V of Norway at his funeral on Wednesday, September 9, and members of his family paid tribute to the 89-year-old with jewelry steeped in royal tradition.

The women of the Norwegian royal family—as well as many of the guests—wore classic pearl jewelry to King Harald’s funeral at Oslo Cathedral. It’s a choice that dates back to Queen Victoria’s day, as Eddie Le Vian, CEO of Le Vian jewelers, tells Marie Claire.

“Pearls have spoken the language of royal mourning for generations,” Le Vian says. “Since Queen Victoria mourned Prince Albert, pearls have come to evoke tears, remembrance and dignity. To me, their symbolism is profound: a pearl is formed layer by layer, just as grief is carried layer by layer. The tears may eventually dry, but the love—and the pearl—remain.”

King Harald’s widow, Queen Sonja, led the Norwegian royal family in mourning the late monarch, who died on August 28. The strand of pearls wrapped around her neck multiple times was the most striking of the royal women, and Le Vian notes that her ensemble “feels intensely personal.”

“The close rows of pearls encircle her like an embrace, while the long strand descends almost like a river of tears,” the jewelry expert shares. Queen Sonja paired the dramatic necklace with a black mourning veil, a pearl bracelet and large pearl earrings, adding King Harald’s royal family order to her black dress.

Like her mother-in-law, King Haakon's wife, Queen Mette-Marit, also wore a pearl necklace, but went for a simpler three-stand design with a diamond clasp and diamond-accented pearl studs.

Le Vian says that Mette-Marit’s “layered pearls carry a different but equally moving meaning.”

“Standing beside Queen Sonja as Norway’s new queen, she is at the threshold between two reigns,” he shares. “Her pearls become a bridge—between mother and daughter-in-law, private grief and public duty, King Harald’s legacy and King Haakon’s future.”

The new queen's daughter, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, also chose pearls for her grandfather's funeral. In addition to a classic pair of pearl studs, the future queen wore a special gift from her grandmother. Queen Sonja gave Ingrid Alexandra the pearl necklace she wore on Wednesday as a christening present, and it features a diamond heart pendant with a ruby center hanging from a tiny string of pearls.

Ingrid Alexandra swapped out her earrings for a pair of dangling pearls during a balcony appearance after the funeral, removing her veiled headpiece to wear a simple black headband.

King Harald and Queen Sonja's only daughter, Princess Märtha Louise, went for a bolder pearl look, layering a five-strand choker with a diamond and pearl clasp with a more classic single strand of pearls. She added oversized pearl button earrings and a similar veiled headband as her niece, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

“Diamonds announce light. Pearls hold it," Le Vian says. "That is why pearls feel so profoundly right in mourning: they resemble tears, yet they endure long after the tears have fallen.”

The 2026 US Open became more than just Taylor Townsend's 11th return to the biggest stage in tennis. Before competing against "the best players in the world," Townsend's pre-match style sent a loud-and-clear message to viewers far beyond the court: "[I'm] doing it my way with confidence," she tells Marie Claire over email.

As a longtime tennis star with three Grand Slam doubles titles to her name, Townsend initially took her on-court outfits "into my own hands" last year: "I’m No. 2 in the world in doubles, and I still don’t have a clothing sponsor,” she said at the 2025 French Open. Instead of signing with an athletic label, Townsend debuted her own tennis attire branded with a "TT" logo.

Fast forward to the 2026 US Open, and her looks told an even bigger story.

"This collection represents where I am personally and professionally...moving towards greatness," Townsend says, referencing the trophy-worthy wardrobe created by her stylist, J. Bolin, and designer Anthony Lattimore. "There is not one person who will have on what I’m wearing, and I’ve always been different like that, even as a child."

After her five-year-old son, Adyn Aubrey Johnson, told her to "set the court on fire and wear red," she started the tournament in a crimson tennis dress. The look featured an intricate fringe waistband and black-and-white linework.

"Movement" was the guiding factor for Townsend's US Open outfits. This prompted Bolin to ask himself, "How do we bring movement to someone who is already doing a lot of moving on the court, without it being distracting?" His answer? Three Fs: fluidity, fashion, and functionality.

With that in mind, Bolin and Lattimore decorated everything from the sleeves on her warm-up bolero to a full Black Panther-inspired coat with theatrical feathers and fringe.

When prepping the looks, Bolin also took note of Townsend's affinity for flames (her signature symbol at last year's US Open). He reimagined the motif in a high-fashion way with splashes of red and orange.

From a functionality standpoint, Bolin ensured the flexible fabrics were as durable as possible before the designer started sewing them down. "It got as [meticulous] as the kind of threading [we used], which had to have the same stretch as the actual fabric," Bolin says.

Sadly, Townsend's US Open outfits took their final bow on Sept. 6, when Aryna Sabalenka won the fourth-round singles match. She went out on top in "The Blackout" look, complete with a quarter-zip tennis dress and an oversized fringe coat.

"I loved every single look, but [the] black [one] was my most dramatic and reminded me of Black Panther," she says. "It was fitting to play Aryna," which she called a "fun fight" between the Panther and the Tiger.

Townsend grew up on the US Open court, becoming the world's top-ranked junior player at 16 years old. So, she's no stranger to the attention that the tournament brings. "I think she goes against the odds of what people say, and she stood the test of people criticizing her size," Bolin says, acknowledging the intense public scrutiny she has faced.

Early on in her tennis career, the United States Tennis Association stopped financing her tournament appearances to "make sufficient progress in slimming down," according to the Wall Street Journal. "When I have people telling me that the...progression of my pro career is incumbent upon losing weight or fitting into a stigma, and having to deal with that on a worldwide stage was very very hard," Townsend said on The Pivot Podcast last year. "It's even been an evolution of finding my fashion and being comfortable in clothes [because] I used clothes to hide."

Setting aside all of the style Grand Slams, “Taylor is a movement," Bolin says. "She's creating a lane for other women of color or people that may have curves, showing them [that] they can, too." Townsend considers herself a "rising phoenix." She adds, "Even though it’s a mythical creature, it represents where I am in life."

"For so long I’ve been told to 'do this, act like her, don’t do this, you’re too much of this, or [you're] not good enough,'" Townsend says. "[My outfits] make me feel amazing—and like I can express myself freely." Now, 14 years into her legendary tennis career, "I’m finally free of the bondage of what others want me to be."

Townsend returns to the US Open doubles semifinals on Sept. 9.

Queen Mette Marit's controversial eldest son, Marius Borg Høiby, might not be a member of the Norwegian royal family, but he was granted permission to attend the funeral of his step-grandfather King Harald V on September 9. Høiby, 29, was convicted of 34 charges—ranging from two counts of rape to drug crimes and restraining order violations—in June and is awaiting an appeal trial, but was allowed to leave house arrest for Wednesday's services at Oslo Cathedral.

Høiby was born to Queen Mette-Marit and her former partner before she met King Haakon and does not hold a royal title or any official role in the monarchy. While he didn't walk in the funeral procession, he arrived with his step-cousins Maud Angelica Behn and Leah Isadora Behn, the daughters of Princess Märtha Louise.

Queen Mette-Marit's son has been serving his house arrest at the Norwegian king and queen's official residence, Skaugum, and Høiby's detention has been extended from September 7 to October 7 as he awaits his appeal.

Høiby was just four years old when his mother married the future King Haakon in 2001, and grew up as another grandchild of King Harald and Queen Sonja. His stepsister, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, will become the future queen of Norway one day, and Marius also has a stepbrother, Prince Sverre Magnus.

The queen's son also left house arrest to visit King Harald in the hospital a day before he died and served as a pallbearer when the king's coffin was carried through the Royal Palace in Oslo on August 31.

Along with Marius's legal troubles, Queen Mette-Marit has also been suffering from complications due to her recent lung transplant. She was forced to miss King Haakon's swearing-in ceremony in front of Norway's parliament on September 1 and was briefly hospitalized later that evening for observation. T

he new Norwegian queen, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2018, received a lung transplant in June and was discharged from the hospital in July. Although it was unclear if she'd be well enough to attend Wednesday's funeral, she traveled with mother-in-law Queen Sonja by car rather than walk in the procession.

It's been a week of milestones for Prince William, who dropped Prince George off at Eton College for his first day of boarding school on September 8 before stepping into a more somber role. The Prince of Wales represented his father at another royal's funeral for the first time on September 9, flying to Norway to attend the services for King Harald V.

Fresh off saying goodbye to his eldest child at Eton, William stepped in for The King—who traditionally does not attend funerals of other royals or world leaders—alongside numerous royal families from around the world. He was joined by Princess Anne, who attended in a personal capacity as godmother of Norway's new monarch, King Haakon.

In 2025, the Prince of Wales attended Pope Francis's funeral on behalf of King Charles, and although he filled in for Queen Elizabeth by flying to the United Arab Emirates in 2022 to pay his respects after the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this is the first time Prince William has attended a royal funeral as a representative of The King.

King Harald died at the age of 89 on August 28, leaving his son Haakon to take the throne alongside his ailing wife, Queen Mette-Marit.

The Norwegian queen, who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis and recently went through a lung transplant, recently missed her husband's swearing-in ceremony before parliament, but was able to attend Wednesday's funeral.

Since Heated Rivalry debuted in December 2025 and took over pop culture, Canada's Crave has become TV's buzziest international streaming service. Now the streamer has teamed up with co-producer Elliot Page to release a new sapphic comedy perfect for sports-romance fans.

Slo Pitch, based on creator J Stevens' hit web series of the same name, is a mockumentary-style show following the Public Lass Brovaries, an underdog softball team co-founded by Coach Joanne Salo (Jess Salgueiro) and her longtime girlfriend. But when Joanne is dump longtime girlfriend dumps her out-of-the-blue, and her ex transfers to a different team, the coach becomes determined to lead the team to the beer-league championship, whatever it takes.

Stars Karen Knox and Salguiero teased the LGBTQ+ comedy earlier this summer, responding to early hype comparing the show to its predecessor. "I was thrilled to be in any way, shape, or form in the same club," Salgueiro said, per Them. "It’s a little bit different. A few less makeout scenes — there’s a couple."

"I would argue that they’re as hot as the ones in Heated Rivalry," Knox added. "...Less six packs, more sloppy."

Crave has confirmed that Slo Pitch is set to premiere on Friday, September 25, 2026. The show will follow a weekly release schedules, with two episodes coming out each Friday up to the season finale on October 23.

According to the official synopsis, the ten-part series will follow the Brovaries as they "navigate a season filled with rivalries, unexpected romances, sponsorship drama, outrageous fundraising efforts, and plenty of post-game beers, discovering that community and friendship matter just as much as winning."

As of early September, the Canadian series has not given word on when the comedy will become available to stream in the U.S. However, fans are hoping that the comedy will follow in the footsteps of other Crave series like Heated Rivalry, which streams on HBO Max, or Yaga, which is set to premiere on AMC+.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are regulars on New York City's restaurant scene, scoring hard-to-get dinner reservations at Via Carota, Chez Margaux, and The Corner Store since 2023. But on September 6, the Ambassadors Clubhouse hosted their first public date night as a married couple—an outing that Swift and Kelce marked with matching takes on fall's stripe trend.

While it's only been three weeks since Swift's last street style look (featuring a little lavender dress by Delphine), she switched from warm- to cold-weather colors during her time away. The pop star rejoined the city's fashion circuit in a silk-blend, slinky Stella McCartney halter dress—its diagonal stripes a cool-toned combination of brown and metallic gold.

Since Swift has been a loyal Stella McCartney shopper for over 12 years, it's no surprise that the dress came from the London-based brand. (Her sold-out, chocolate brown bucket bag hailed from the designer's catalog, too.

This year alone, Swift has sourced the Paris Fashion Week mainstay for a peplum bridal-white button-down, a cap-sleeve LBD, and a patchwork bomber jacket and jeans at a Kansas City Cavaliers basketball game in May.

As for the rest of her accessories, the Grammy winner stayed true to her signature stack: her Artifex Fine engagement ring and an opal jewelry set that once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. Swifties might recognize her Spinelli Kilcollin tennis bracelet from the iHeartRadio Music Awards, or her Mindi Mond citrine-and-diamond earrings from her Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The Aquazzura's Twist Sandals are also familiar to Swift's longtime fans: She owns the same double-strap heels in burgundy velvet, beige raffia, and now, metallic rose gold.

Back to Swift's dress through. Stripes were one of fall's leading fashion trends. Lines in all shades and sizes bounced from the runways of Vivienne Westwood and Mugler to Issey Miyake and (of course) Stella McCartney. The motif even returned to the Couture Fall 2026 circuit, thanks to Chanel and Fendi.

Swift and her stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, aren't the only ones taking style cues from recent runway shows. Kelce's ivory short-sleeve shirt also featured subtle stripes.
