Another day, another rainbow hair trend, but this one is a bit different than color-blockingsand art, or split hair. It's a little edgier, but just as bold.

The style looks like someone shined a light on only specific parts of the hair, creating a flashlight effect. Lorean Cairns, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Fox & Jane Salon in NYC told Seventeen.com that she came up with the look to create a new way of dyeing hair rainbow colors. She also calls it "Glacier Blonde" and "Blurred Lines," because the line between each shade is blurred out.

Lorean creates the smooth lines of color by first lightening and toning the hair to a platinum or silver shade. Then, she selects the pastel shades she's going to use.

She applies the two "line" colors by sectioning the hair in a circle around the head. Then, she paints each piece using a free hand technique, very gently smudging the lines between them to create a blurred effect.

It looks really cool with movement.

Somehow, the look is both laid-back and eye-catching. Obsessed!
