  • Nicole Kidman, 52, has always been known for her gorgeous, porcelain skin.
  • The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress says she’s big on using sunscreen during the day and a retinol cream at night, as well as keeping her dry skin moisturized.
  • Kidman also loves to load up on matcha green tea and makes exercise a priority.

Nicole Kidman has been known for her gorgeous, porcelain skin since practically forever. And, of course, she still looks absolutely amazing, whether she’s on the red carpet or onscreen as retired lawyer Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies.

Kidman recently told Byrdie that “micro-decisions” are the keys to her beauty and happiness. A big factor in that: Using sun protection regularly.

“Because I’m so outdoorsy—I love playing tennis, and I love working out outdoors. I love going for a run and swimming, and I just want to be able to do all of that and protect my skin because I get burnt,” she said. “I use vitamin C too because that does give you some protection long-term.”

Kidman’s Celeste is struggling onscreen right now, and it’s hard to know what will happen ahead of the Big Little Lies finale. But one thing is for sure: She’ll look amazing doing it.

Here’s what else Kidman is doing to keep her skin looking youthful and healthy at 52.

...and swears by retinol cream at night.

The actress recently shared with People that she doesn’t skimp when it comes to SPF: She uses Neutrogena Beach Defense Water + Sun Protection Spray SPF 100. (Kidman is a spokesperson for the brand.) “My family and I love surfing, swimming and waterskiing,” she said. “This SPF 100 is so easy to apply and works for me like nothing else.”

For daily use on her face, Kidman likes Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 100+, and reapplies religiously. “It’s why my skin now is, I think, far less damaged than it could have been,” she told W magazine.

...and swears by retinol cream at night.

Retinol creams work to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing your skin’s production of collagen—and Kidman swears by them. But there’s one product she’s recommended time and time again: Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Cream.

“I use this cream on my face every day,” she told People. “It gives me all the benefits of using a retinol product without making my sensitive skin red or flaky.”

She pampers her dry skin.

Dry skin can be tough to deal with, but Kidman told W magazine that she works hard to take care of hers. “My skin tends to be dry, and my lips tend to be dry,” she said, so using hydrating products are a must. While she admits she loves luxury brands like La Mer, good ol’ Aquaphor also gets the job done for her, too.

And always makes sure to remove her makeup.

It can be tough to remove all of your makeup at night, especially if you’re wiped. But Kidman told Harper’s Bazaar that she’s diligent about it. “I was taught to take off all of my makeup every night, but if I’ve been working all day I’ll use a cleansing wipe to make it quick and easy,” she said. “They’re great for traveling because you can get them through security.”

She’s big on matcha green tea.

Kidman told People that she loves coffee, but switches to tea later in the day. “My husband makes me coffee every morning, and the rest of the day I drink this matcha powder. I usually whip it up with almond milk in a frother, which is delicious.” Kidman’s top choice: The Republic of Tea Organic Matcha.

Exercise is a priority

“I grew up with a marathon-running father, and my sister does mini triathlons. I do none of that, but I love running—at a very slow pace,” Kidman told Harper’s Bazaar. I’m not fast or pretty when I run, but I like being outdoors. It lifts my spirits and gives me gratitude for the world. It’s peace for me.” She’s also a fan of spin classes to “get completely revved up for the day.”
