Believe it or not, Mariacarla Boscono—named one of the top 30 models of the 2000s—doesn't consider herself a "classic beauty." She claims that while she was growing up in Rome, family members jokingly called her Calimero, the name of a goofy Italian black-feathered cartoon chicken. "When I started in the business 15 years ago, I was considered very different looking," she says. "Of course, that's probably how I've lasted so long. It's hard to find someone who looks like me!" As Givenchy creative director Richard Tisci's longtime muse, she's had no problem stepping into her latest role as inspiration to the house's Le Makeup collection and makeup artist Nicolas Degennes. "I'm in love with her beauty and the way she laughs," he exclaims. For this story, the two cooked up looks starring the new Le Rouge collection, which consists of velvety lipsticks encased in beyond-chic Givenchy-esque black-leather tubes. Boscono is partial to the reds: "Everyone should have a great red lipstick," she says. "That way, you can be on a beach somewhere and still look fabulous."
