Forget No Shave November! Celebs are cutting it all off. Jennifer Lawrence made headlines last week when she posted a photo of her new pixie cut—joining several other celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Hudson, Pamela Anderson, and Kristin Chenoweth who also opted for the chop.

If this celebrity obsession with the pixie cut is making you consider a new hairdo, read these professional tips before making the cut:

The Pixie Cut

Confidence is key to pulling off the look. Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompteexplains, "the cut is flattering on many different face shapes, but it draws attention to all of your facial features so being comfortable with yourself is a must."

For square or round faces, LeCompte recommends getting a shorter pixie cut with volume in the crown, which will draw attention away from your jawline and give the impression of a more elongated face shape. For heart or oval faces, a pixie cut would be just the thing to accentuate your delicate facial features.

The Bob

If the pixie cut seems to drastic, opt for the bob. For women with wider faces, Ben Skervin, Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Celebrity Stylist, suggests chin-length bobs that will elongate the face. For longfaces, he suggests a mid-cheek bob that will make the face appear shorter.

Don't Forget:

1. Go easy on hair products to avoid oversaturating short hair.

2. Make sure you communicate with your stylist about exactly what you want. Bring a lot (and we mean lots) of photos.

4. Try on a short cut virtually before you even step into the salon with a virtual makeover!
