Q: I really want to get Botox but am terrified of needles. How do I overcome my phobia?
A:
Needle-phobia is treatable. I always talk my patients through the Botox process and, when necessary, practice a form of relaxation therapy. Many patients bring their iPod with a soothing playlist to their Botox appointment. Discussing your concerns with your derm and asking for a topical numbing cream to ease the discomfort can also go a long way toward making it a more tolerable procedure.
