The Secret to Long Hair...Finally!

My co-worker, Jenna, sashayed by my desk with luscious, waist-length locks, replacing what had been a shoulder length 'do just the day before. As a beauty enthusiast, I had to know every detail. How long will they last? Does it hurt? Is your hair going to fall out? How do they attach? I couldn’t jump on board soon enough.

Enter Marc Mena: the Hair Extension King of New York. Literally 48 hours later, I plopped into his chair at Warren Tricomi Salon in The Plaza, where many celebrities and socialites have sat before me. In Marc’s words, "Everyone's hair has its own destiny, a mind of its own." Unfortunately, my hair’s destiny is to grow to my collar-bone and come to a screeching halt. With the help of Great Lengths, my destiny has been rewritten.

Great Lengths hair extensions are made from real human hair sourced from the temples of India and are snapped in with tiny, heat- free, keratin bonds. Marc has fittingly dubbed them "Karma Hair," and good karma they are indeed! As with any beauty upgrade, my waist length ‘do has given me a newfound sense of confidence, both professionally and personally. Getting noticed is the first step in getting ahead, right?

The only real change in my day-to-day maintenance has been to actually brush my hair, which I have admittedly skipped out on in the past. I wash and style it just like I always have. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but long, shiny tresses certainly don't hurt!

Watch Jennifer Lawrence's Amazing Lip Sync Performance That Was Cut From 'American Hustle'

Jennifer Lawrence's delightfully unhinged performance — read: a '70s Real Housewife of New Jersey who'd always be ready to fight with Teresa — in American Hustle included a great scene of her lip syncing the James Bond theme song "Live and Let Die." It was great. And it turns out J.Law was so good at lip syncing that she got to perform a whole other song too.

In a deleted scene from the movie (via BuzzFeed), Lawrence is mouths along to a Santana song while on a cleaning spree. She's wearing a leopard print house dress, so you know she's serious. (Also, there's air guitar.) We all like a little disco while we dust, after all. And we've all been here when that fucking red wine stain won't come out of the rug:

Matthew McConaughey Explains His Famous Catchphrase

Matthew McConaughey has lit up the big screen, the silver screen, and our hearts with his Texas drawl and super buff bod for decades. His staple catchphrase, "Alright, alright, alright," has become legendary, and after his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Oscars, we started wondering about its genesis.

Luckily, the above video started making the rounds, in which McConaughey explains the origin behind the tag line. In the 2011 interview with George Stroumboulopoulos, the actor spoke to how he tapped into his first on-screen character, David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused. He had been listening to a live recording of an album by The Doors to get ready for his first scene, and in between two of the songs, Jim Morrison let out four of the now infamous "alrights."

McConaughey explained, "What is Wooderson about? He's about his car, getting high, rock and roll, and picking up chicks…alright, alright, alright." And there you have it, folks. History, made.
