Going Bananas for Prints and Pups

Going Bananas for Prints and Pups

It doesn't take that much to brighten a dreary morning. Today, thanks to Banana Republic's Palm Springs-inspired collaboration with Trina Turk, I'm all smiles. And it only has a little to do with the adorable puppy video that I've watched far too many times.

The capsule collection, which will become available in retail locations in 24 countries and online tomorrow, features nearly 60 pieces of apparel, swimwear, jewelry, and other accessories. Reflecting Turk's signature resort aesthetic, many boast vibrant prints in bright, cheery summer colors. The reasonable price point — everything is under $150 — has us almost as excited as the campaign in support of the ASPCA. Though my retriever would be none too happy to wear a scarf — however chic it may be — it's enough to send me dashing over to my local shelter.

Although the full Banana Republic Trina Turk collection won't launch until tomorrow, Facebook fans can shop select items beginning today. That deserves a bark of approval.

Alyssa

Alyssa Vingan is Marie Claire's web editor. She grew up in Virginia, spent her college years in New Orleans, and upon graduation left the Big Easy for the big city. She continually impresses (worries?) her colleagues with her knowledge of obscure models, compulsive collecting of international fashion magazines, and her undying girl-crush on Abbey Lee Kershaw. Maura

Maura Brannigan is Marie Claire's web assistant. A native of the Windy City, she adores live music, grilled cheese, and the perfect pair of patent leather shoes — and, when possible, all three at once. If she's not writing about the latest in culture, she's probably watching reruns of SNL, pirouetting in ballet class, or cheering for her favorite Chicago sports teams. Follow her on Twitter @maura_brannigan!
