If Obama's 2012 presidential campaign taught us anything, it was that Barack and Michelle are wonderfully buddy-buddy with America's other first couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce. So, in an announcement that surprised no one, Beyonce has been picked to sing The Star Spangled Banner at the upcoming presidential inauguration on January 21. No word yet whether little miss Blue Ivy will be in attendance.

Beyonce and Jay-Z have long been avid Obama supporters — in September, the entertainment power duo hosted a reception benefitting the Obama campaign, charging a whopping $40,000 per ticket. To add to the excitement, plenty of other talent will be joining Beyonce to perform during the inauguration festivities. You can expect James Taylor to sing "America the Beautiful," and Kelly Clarkson — a self-proclaimed Ron Paul fan — to sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee."

Here's some cute trivia for you: Bey also took the stage at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball in 2009, singing Etta James' "At Last" during the President and First Lady's first dance.

It's Beyonce's world, people, and we're just living in it.
