Dressed to Thrill: Carey Mulligan in Lanvin

Share

The world premiere of The Great Gatsby screened last night at New York's Lincoln Center. Since the Baz Luhrmann film has such a fashion slant — costume designer Catherine Martin worked with Miuccia Prada to create all of the Jazz Age-inspired looks — we had a feeling that its stars would pull out all of the stops on the red carpet. Our favorite look of the evening belonged to Daisy Buchanan herself, Carey Mulligan, who looked lovely in a scarlet Lanvin dress from the Fall 2013 collection. We were surprised to see her in something so simple and structured, considering her character in the film is consistently dressed in opulent looks that reflect the style of the Roaring '20s.

Her male counterparts didn't look too shabby, either — you can see Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire (with his wife, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer) in their dapper suits below.
