Gucci is teaming up with Twitter for their CHIME FOR CHANGE campaign to host an innovative hackathon for mobile app solutions supporting women around the world. Taking place from December 5th to December 7th, the 3-day event will kick-off in San Francisco just in time with TEDWomen 2013. Hearst Magazines is the exclusive magazine media partner for Chime for Change and this week's Hack event.
CHIME FOR CHANGE aims to raise funds and awareness for the empowerment of women, with a focus on Education, Health, and Justice. Less than a year later since its February 2013 start, the campaign has already raised $4.4 million to support more than 260 projects in 81 countries.
CHIME HACK will celebrate the power of tech savvy women, who have the skills to identify mobile app solutions to spread global support for girls and women, while also encouraging women to enter tech fields. Stars including Beyoncé, Salma Hayek, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Blake Lively, and Ben Affleck have all volunteered their voice in support for the cause.
