Provide Nourishment to Hungry Women and Children in Syria

Share

With the violent civil war in Syria, four million people (half of whom are children) are suffering dire consequences of the conflict day-to-day without basic food necessities. Food sources, like crops and cattle, have been destroyed by the war leaving pregnant mothers and children at risk of malnutrition. Since the war has started in 2011, there has been a 60 percent decrease in the production of basic cooking ingredients and supplies. Even the simplest necessities, like flour and oil for cooking and milk for children, are hard to come by. In order to provide some of the desperately needed aid, the Circle of Health International (COHI), a US-based non-profit that helps mothers and children in locations that are in times of crisis, has teamed up with Watan, a Syria-based organization, to raise funds and provide food to families in Syria.

The project aims to raise $50,000 by mid-August—this will provide crucial aid for a population that is at risk of starvation. If COHI meets its goal, hungry families will be able to receive supplies by late August. Click here to start helping today
