Style Trends Across the Globe

Wondering what to wear when you go to Brazil for Christmas, Australia for New Year's and Japan while you're on a layover? Or at least what the ladies in all of those countries are going nuts for this season. We have Net-a-Porter's list of the most popular items on the site from across the world so you'll be stylish in every time zone.

Netherlands
Trending: Red silk-chiffon dresses
Women in the Netherlands are stepping out in red, silk-chiffon formal-wear like this Gucci draped gown and this Valentino ruffled, organza smock. If you're planning a trip to Amsterdam, remember to pack your Little Red Dress.

Hong Kong
Trending: White feathered frocks
This Alexander McQueen ivory, halter chiffon gown screams "Goddess Divine," and in Hong Kong, women have bought out the feathered, bedazzled frock.

Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E.
Trending: Metallic dresses
On first glance, this teal, metallic Dolce & Gabbana number reminds us of Splash (very mermaid-esque) circa 1984 — and makes us want to nab a glitzy, sequined dress! Women in Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. already picked one up; you should, too.

Japan
Trending: Oversize outerwear
When we think of Japan, we think of all-things small and compact, but the trendiest items right now fall under oversize silhouettes, such as the Stella McCartney wool coat in navy.

Italy
Trending: Skinny leather pants, in white
Italians are known for their spot-on style, and this season, Italian women are sporting Balmain (painted-on tight) white leather skinnys that are tough and luxe all at once.

Australia
Trending: Spacious bags and cute clutches
Aussie women are all about slouched shoulder bags, like the Chloé Paraty leather bag. The understated tawny hue makes the bag (and you) look effortlessly cool. Or a classy little clutch, like this Miu Miu metalassé black leather bitty, are perfect for a night out on the town in Sydney, Perth, or Melbourne.

Brazil
Trending: Jumpsuits
Would Gisele (or any other bombshell, Brazilian woman) wear this? If the answer is yes, then ALICE by Temperley opal polka-dot, black velvet jumpsuit you've been dying to buy is on trend — and already sold-out in Brazil.

France
Trending: Over-the-knee boots
Over-the-knee and over-the-top boots are the shoes to don in the rues of Paris right now. These suede Gucci's are sure to make that cute French guy do a double-take.

United Kingdom
Trending: Skinny leather pants, in metallic tones
While we haven't seen the Duchess of Cambridge (a.k.a. Kate Middleton) wear a pair of shimmery skinnys, Balmain's metallic, indigo leather pants are all the glamour and rage in the U.K.

United States
Trending: Glitter-and-suede peep-toe shoes
Namely, Miu Miu's sparkly part-glitter, part-suede peep-toe ankle booties. They're playful, edgy, and sold-out stateside on Net-a-Porter.
