MC@Play with Icona Pop

The Swedish electropop twosome, Icona Pop, is on the brink of major stardom as they provide the impossibly fun theme song for MTV's newest guilty pleasure. To say we're addicted is a major understatement.

The Jersey Shore spinoff, Snooki & JWoww, premiered last Thursday in all its faux-tanned glory to so-so reviews, just as we all expected. But spending 30 minutes parked in front of your TV to only learn (SPOILER ALERT!) that Snooki was both pregnant and engaged wasn't a total loss.

Take the shows opening theme song, "I Love It," otherwise described as the perfect soundtrack for a glorious night out on the town spent shimmying with your best friends — which, come to think of it, is just what Snooki & JWoww is about.

We have Icona Pop to thank for this summer's newest anthem. MC's Sergio Kletnoy introduces us to the Swedish duo made up of the fantastically cool Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt. They teamed up in Stockholm in February 2009 before the pair moved to London two years later. Here, they garnered the attention of some of the biggest names in the electropop business, including both Robyn's and Ellie Goulding's people, who no doubt recognized a good thing when they saw one — or two, that is.

"It's about being together and having fun, and inviting as many people as possible because the best nights out are the ones you want to share with everyone," Hjelt says. Yep, sounds about right.

If you're visibly jamming to this beat as much as we are, don't worry, because there's much more where this came from on Icona Pop's as-yet-untitled debut album, dropping later this year. But for now, watch the music video for "I Love It."

And here's the Snooki & JWoww version:
