Weigh In: Would You Take a Class Taught by John Galliano?

Those who can't do, teach, right? It's been two years since the house of Christian Dior suspended John Galliano for his anti-Semitic tirade in Paris, and Parsons announced yesterday that the shunned designer will be teaching a master class in fashion design theory at The New School for Design. The course, called "Show Me Emotion," will reportedly "engage its participants by provoking the power of emotion in context of fashion practice," according to an e-mail received by seniors in the school's BFA fashion program.

Parsons seems pretty confident about hiring the once glorified, now shamed designer, saying in a statement today, "We believe that over the past two years Galliano has demonstrated a serious intent to make amends for his past actions." No one can doubt that Galliano is a talented designer, but we're curious as to how he'll handle discussing the elephant in the room — his suspension from one of the world's most storied fashion brands, his cultural and religious beliefs, etc. This decision to allow Galliano to teach a course filled with young, impressionable fashion students is certainly a controversial one, but you think that the designer's latest chance at redemption is deserved? Tell us in the poll below!
