Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy have both spoken out on the first anniversary of Cory Monteith's death.
Michele posted a picture of herself with Monteith on Twitter, with the caption "We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile..."

Glee creator Ryan Murphy also marked the sad occasion by posting a screen that was included in the Glee episode dedicated to the late 31-year-old.

Many of Monteith's co-stars also shared their thoughts, including Kevin McHale, who shared his sadness on Twitter by describing the tragedy as "so surreal" a year on.

Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes, wrote: "I remember your smile and your warm hugs! 1 year without you and your presence is still felt. Miss and love u everyday big bro. Our Angel."
Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) posted a picture on Instagram of the Glee cast, and captioned it: "365 days since you've gone and not a day passes we don't remember your smiling face. We miss you buddy. Thanks to everyone for your love and support today while we remember our quarterback."
Monteith was found dead in a Canadian hotel, at the age of 31. He died from a mixed drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol.
