It's been a big week for Proenza Schouler. On Monday, the designer duo behind the brand, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, took home their third CFDA award for Womenswear Designer of the Year. And it gets better: Today, photos of their pre-SS 2014 ready-to-wear collection were released. In honor of the label's tenth anniversary, Barneys will soon be re-releasing their first ever collection — except this time, it's been revamped.
After hearing moans of regret from many that didn't snatch up their original 2003 collection, the pair decided it was time to bring it back with a slight modern update. The collection has been expanded to 19 pieces from the original 11, and elements such as original patterns have been tweaked for the re-release. Expect price points in the $850 to $5,650 range.
Hernandez and McCollough are still loyal to Barneys even a decade after their start. "The idea of reissuing the first show felt full circle," Hernandez told The New York Times. "It just felt right to give them something special."
