Project Runway Season 12 Recap: The Premiere

Project Runway Season 12 kicked off in high gear…literally. With skydivers in multi-colored jumpsuits falling from the heavens to deliver the designers' first challenge—parachute material—and a surprise redemption, Kate from Season 11, everyone was a bit on edge as they headed to their space at Parsons.

It wasn't long before the group of newly acquainted designers started feeling the pressure. Kate shared her previous experience with the group because she wants to win for her designs, not her insider knowledge from season 11. Then, there is Timothy, or as Zac Posen referred to him, "Kinky Boots." Timothy, always looking for a sustainable way to life and fashion, opted for his model to be bare faced and have no hair products or heat tools applied to her hair. (We felt sorry for her—she looked miserable). We also can't forget the that there was a first in Project Runway history on last night's episode—a flash of vagina—talk about a wardrobe malfunction.

With a big win from Bradon on the first challenge (loved the light blue parachute dress, with the colored train, and bungee cords used as detailing), he's safe for challenge number two! Tune in next week for the second episode of Project Runway Season 12 at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
