According to a study in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, University of Arizona researchers examined a group of 137 recently divorced adults and asked how many had had the occasional post-conjugal visit after their divorce. More than three-fourths (82.5 percent) of the participants remained in contact with their ex after the separation while almost one-fifth (21.9 percent) had sex. Psychologists say that having sex with an ex provides a feeling of security and can lessen the emotional toll of separation. Still, with emotions running high, sex with your ex may ignite false hope.
