Target and Neiman Marcus Join Forces for Biggest Designer Collaboration … Ever!

We love a good odd couple. And we can't imagine a better one than Target and Neiman Marcus. The discount retailer and the luxury department store just announced that they will join forces to offer a shared holiday collection.

The collection — which will be available at both Target and Neiman Marcus stores starting Dec. 1 — will feature more than 50 limited-edition gifting items from 24 designers, some of whom are familiar with both companies. Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, and Rodarte, for starters, have found sold-out success in creating more affordable capsule collections for Target.

Still, we imagine by also throwing the likes of Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and Oscar de la Renta into the mix — and all at once — both stores will make a killing. (Let's not even mention the days-long lines that are likely already forming, or how, come Dec. 1 at 12:01 a.m., the surge of online shoppers will cause the entirety of the internet to implode.)

"Neiman Marcus and Target share a passion for great design and delighting customers in new and unexpected ways," said Karen Katz, president and CEO of Neiman Marcus. "We are thrilled to be collaborating to offer a spectacular collection of one-of-a-kind items for the holidays. These will be the must-have gifts, whether you are a loyal Neiman Marcus customer, a devoted Target guest, or a fan of American design."

The items will mainly be in the fashion and home categories, and they'll range in price from $7.99 to $499.99, though most items are said to scan in at less than $60. and spanning multiple product categories, including home goods and, of course, fashion.

Diane von Furstenberg, who is president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, for which all 24 designers are members, called the collaboration an "extraordinary" one, and one that is perfectly timed with the CFDA's 50th anniversary.

"As designers, creativity is our best gift, and with the generous support of Neiman Marcus and Target, we are happy to have created specially designed products as a thank you to share with our consumers and friends," she said.

We know it's only July, but this actually makes us wish for winter weather already.
