This Vaccine Could Be The Goodbye To UTI's

Hallelujah.

For any woman who has ever felt the excruciating pain that accompanies the easily curable urinary tract infection (UTI), there is good news in store. A new method of preventing these pesky infections is in the works. Researchers at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine are developing a vaccine that would keep UTI's at bay.

To keep the ailment from taking root, scientists are creating a vaccine that blocks a particular protein from latching onto bacteria, causing the UTI in the first place. The bad news? The study only applies to UTI's related to medical procedures. For those of you (and let's face it, most of us) who have contracted a UTI after you forgot to pee after sex, you can only hope that a similar vaccine will be next.
