What We Couldn't Stop Talking About This Week

This week was full of Golden Globes goodies, music royalty news, and the arrival of a new verb — "Te'o-ing." Let's see what impressed and, in some cases, startled, MC most this week.

Manti Te'o has a fake dead girlfriend. In September, the Notre Dame football star confessed in several interviews that his longtime girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, had tragically passed away from leukemia and that he would spend the rest of the season playing for her. Swoon, right? But on Wednesday, the sports website Deadspin investigated that, well, Kekua never actually existed. Now he's claiming they were merely internet sweethearts. Did he get by some online dating site or was the whole thing an elaborate PR stunt? Only time will tell.

Michelle Obama got bangs. And just in time for Monday's presidential inauguration! Yesterday, the FLOTUS debuted a very chic bob-meets-bangs 'do that had everyone talking. Plus, it was her 49th birthday this week.

Lance Armstrong was not a very nice guy. The ex-king of cycling finally confessed last night in an exclusive, 4.3 million-viewer interview with Oprah that his "mythic, perfect story" was "one big lie." Read: He had been taking performance-enhancing drugs for years, athough he's denied it since he was first accused of doping in 2010.

Justin Timberlake is back. JT is back and better than ever with a new single, "Suit & Tie," featuring Jay-Z. A new album from Mr. 'N Sync, The 20/20 Experience, is also in the works.

Project Runway All Stars Season 2 got itself a winner. The hit spin-off has added a new member to its large, dramatic family of winners. Anthony Ryan Auld, a 28-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, walked away with the $150,000 grand prize, as well as a fashion spread in Marie Claire and a contributing editor position at the magazine. Welcome, Anthony Ryan!
