At this weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego, fans were treated to the first image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, who is set to appear in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Check it out from Gadot herself:

And let's be clear: She looks badass. There's lots of metal armor and tough-looking weapons. But she's another example of superheroes in modern movies losing their camp quality in order to look gritty. There's not a trace of red or blue, let alone spandex, in Gadot's costume.

It's a far cry from Lynda Carter's 1970s TV portrayal. In fact, she looks more like a certain warrior princess from '90s television. Here's what fans had to say on social media.
