Utah High School Photoshops Female Students' Yearbook Pics to Be More Modest

Remember how fun getting your yearbooks was? Cracking open that crisp binding, finding your picture, signing everyone else's with fresh Gelly Rolls. But this week students at Wasatch High School in Utah were more horrified than pleased when they saw their yearbook pictures and realized they'd been Photoshopped (via Fox 8).

The photos show sleeves added to girls' outfits and low-cut tops made more conservative with retouching. The school didn’t even consistently edit the pictures; two students wore identical outfits and one got edited sleeves, while the other didn’t. Only female students' outfits were Photoshopped. Some more examples:

Administrators claim they did post signs on picture day to warn students there was a dress code and that pictures would be subject to editing. The superintendent of the district, Terry E. Shoemaker, responded, “We only apologize in the sense that we want to be more consistent with what we’re trying to do in that sense we can help kids better prepare for their future by knowing how to dress appropriately for things.” Translation: “Sorry for introducing a controversial policy and then half-assing it. #SorryNotSorry.” See the girls tell their story below:
