My Boss Doesn't Know My Name

Dear CC: After six months in my new position, my boss still calls me by the wrong name. It's gone on so long I don't feel like I can correct him without embarrassing him.

You could have a colleague intercede, underline your signature thrice in all correspondence, or declare April National Name-Tag Month. Next time he says, "Betty, could you come here?" quickly interject, "It's Wilma, sir. Wilma. No worries; people are always making that mistake." Maybe he'll have a momentary flutter, realizing he's had it wrong the entire time. But since he doesn't sound like the most clued of dudes, he'll probably just chalk this up to a onetime brain fart and move on.
