Get the Most Out of Your Coffee Break

Power Coffee Breaks

Craving caffeine? Here's a plan to get the best jolt out of your java:

Drink frequent, small doses (about a quarter of a cup every hour). They're more effective than a big mug at once.

Give up the smokes. Drinking while dragging significantly reduces caffeine's staying power.

Sip and snooze. The best way to get your second wind is to drink coffee, then take a 10-to-20-minute nap. Since coffee requires the same amount of time to work its magic — and sleep is the only thing that will offer a feeling of restfulness — you'll wake up alert and refreshed.
