Dear CC: I have a colleague who clearly doesn't like me. She makes lunch dates and small talk with pretty much everyone on the floor except for me. I don't know what I ever did. Would confronting her about it be mature and honest or drama-inducing?
CC sees too many folks out there-alas, usually younger, usually female-who confuse business with personal. If her lack of attention is having absolutely no effect on office business (no missed assignments, no colleagues suddenly bad-mouthing you, no filching of your yogurt from the company fridge), forget about it. You don't have to be friends with everyone you work with. That's why they call it work, remember? And you never mention: Have you ever asked her out to lunch?
