It took a village to pull off our salute to American style, and our dream of pairing political powerhouses with fashion kingpins. (Want to be electable? Look delectable, we say.) Thirteen Marie Claire staffers, two dozen assorted free lancers and producers, five celebrity trailers, and one live donkey convened in Washington, DC, for a week in June to work together for the cause - despite sweltering heat and downpours of biblical proportions. The results, we think, speak for themselves.
