Robin Thicke Shamelessly Dedicates His BET Awards Peformance to Paula Patton

He went for the waterworks, natch.

We love a heartfelt serenade as much as the next girl — unless it's from Robin Thicke. Don't get us wrong, we can empathize with the pains that come from loss and regret, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

In the latest plea for his estranged wife Paula Patton to take him back, Thicke performed his new song "Forever Love,' at the 2014 BET Awards. He went for the waterworks, natch.

"Good evening, my name is Robin Thicke, I'd like to dedicate this song to my wife, and say, 'I miss you, and I’m sorry," he told the crowd before crooning the number from his grand piano post.

From the heartstring-tugging lyrics (Every day I will believe that you and I are meant to be. You’re my forever love) to the the occasional nose sniffle, the whole thing read as hopelessly tawdry. Especially the end: "Robin appeared to be crying during and after his performance," an observer told Us Weekly.

Nobody likes a broken record, Robin. Watch the performance, below:
