Your Job Could Make You More Susceptible to Stalkers

To add to the kilometer-long record of Female-Specific Problems: Stalkers who target women because of their careers.

These scumbags aren't attracted to their victims and don't even know them personally; they harass women holding high-visibility jobs, bent on ruining their reputations and self-perceptions. Included in the Telegraph's story are a Member of Parliament who contemplated resignation after suffering seven years of mental assault, and a philanthropist who was forced to defend her charity when her stalker lodged a complaint.

What's most disturbing of all about this situation? The concern other women might avoid positions that put them in the public eye because they fear being stalked.
