In 2001, our favorite celebrity power couple to ever exist, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, made the ultimate commitment not only to each other, but to early-aughts fashion with one simple fabric and a whole lot of confidence: by wearing their now-iconic double denim ensembles to the American Music Awards. It. Was. Everything

In the 14 years that have passed since the exes' historic style moment took place, many a famous pair (from Katy Perry and Riff Raff to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively) have tried to recreate the look, but neither Britney or Justin have seemed to notice. (Or at least cared to express their appreciation on social media.) Until now.

Because Spears is a sucker for kids, she took to Instagram to give praise to the efforts of stylist Monica Rose's children—who used Halloween as an opportunity to replicate the sheer jean-ius that once was. And as you can see, they totally nailed it.

Most notable from the "Pretty Girls" singer's post (besides the adorable mini Brit and JT of course) is the fact that the regram included *this* very important hashtag: #britneyandjustinforever.

NEVER. FORGET.
