Major 'Game of Thrones' Shocker: Jon Snow Is Getting a Haircut

Say it isn't so!

If the headline of this article didn't warn you enough, this article contains plot details for the latest episode of Game of Thrones, and some hints about future storylines. Proceed with caution, because winter is coming, and so are spoilers.

At the end of Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones, Melisandre clips a few hairs from a then-dead Jon Snow's head, then uses them to magically bring him back to life. And it looks like she gave him a full-blown makeover in the process.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Jon Snow will appear with shorter hair during this season of the HBO show, ditching the long, curly locks that made fans swoon. Part of the reason behind the new 'do was to keep fans guessing about Jon Snow's fate. "I wanted to sell [the story that he was leaving the series] a bit more," Kit Harington told the magazine. "I know in the past I'd said I'd cut it off when I can. I wanted to appear with shorter hair straight away so it would sell the lie."

Once he got on set, the hair team decided to give him an even shorter haircut. During his resurrection scene, Harington was wearing hair extensions. But when we see Jon up and about, he'll be rocking a man bun. So Harington's hair is still long enough to pull up, but not flowing like it used to be. And given how resurrections tend to go on Game of Thrones, that's likely not the only thing that will be different about Jon Snow now.
