Britney Spears's unapproved biopic Lifetime is already causing controversy, after new footage of the cast recreating her lashing out at a paparazzo with an umbrella was leaked on Twitter.

In 2007, Britney infamously stepped out of a silver Sedan and began swinging at a single pap with an umbrella at a gas station, at the height of the lead-up to her heavily reported mental health issues.

Footage of Natasha Bassett, who plays Britney in the biopic, filming the infamous incident shows that they've made made more than a few changes to the scene.

For one, 'Britney' is surrounded by a huge swarm of paparazzi, while there's a whole lot more shouting going on and the creators have taken the scene onto the open road and substituted her silver sedan for a black vehicle.

Fans aren't happy with the clip and have responded on Twitter, calling out its lack of accuracy amongst other things.

Britney's team previously made it very clear that she "will not be contributing to the project "in any way, shape or form… nor does it have her blessing".

The biopic recently cast its Justin Timberlake in the form of Nathan Keyes, and he's been getting into the spirit by bleaching his hair and perfecting JT's early 'NSync curls.
