Alexis Bledel Talks About *That* Rory Gilmore Life Choice No One Saw Coming

"She's kind of just going through the motions."

This post contains spoilers for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

Gilmore Girls fans are a house divided when it comes to Rory Gilmore's love life, with most of the fandom split between Jess and Logan. Regardless of ship, fans hoped A Year in the Life would answer the eternal, nagging question of who Rory ended up with.

Logan fans scored a bittersweet victory during the revival because, while Rory and Logan were still seeing each other in 2016, both were involved with other people at the time.

Rory and Logan's affair (with her cheating on forgettable boyfriend of three years Paul and him on fiancée Odette) lasts almost the entire year covered by the Netflix revival and fans have FEELINGS about it. Even Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory and therefore knows her better than just about anyone, was shocked by the storyline.

"It did surprise me," she admitted in an interview with ET Online. "And I think it's a little uncomfortable for [Rory] even though she's kind of putting on a brave face that she's fine with it. I think she's actually not that emotionally connected to it. I think she's kind of just going through the motions at this point when we pick up with them."

It was a little uncomfortable for all of us, so at least that's one way Rory and fans were on the same page about her life choices in A Year in the Life.
