It's been about four years since Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian were thrown into a serious game of Should We Be Friends or Nah? Since the beginning of Kim's romantic relationship with Kanye West, which started around the same time as his "Watch the Throne" tour with Jay Z, things between Kim and Beyoncé have been ... blurry? They've attended concerts together, posted a handful of questionable Instagrams for/about each other, and between the two of them, have attended more Met Galas than you ever will in your lifetime (sorry about that). But still, they don't seem like BFFs.
Here's a look back at some of the potential drama between two of the most famous people in the world — if anything, it's more of a review of how their lives have intersected. As with everything else, do take this with a grain of salt.
September 2011: Beyoncé, Solange, Kim, and Rachel Roy all attend the Vera Wang Spring show during New York Fashion Week. If looks could kill...
April 2012: MediaTakeOut (reminder, large grain of salt) reports that Bey and Jay are going out of their way to avoid new couple Kimye, citing a dinner for Knicks player Carmelo Anthony specifically. Apparently, they refused to enter the restaurant until Kimye were long gone.
May 2012: Solange, Beyoncé's sister, attends the Met Gala with Rachel Roy (? Ring. The. Alarm.), who is one of Kim's closest friends. Beyoncé wears the most amazing sheer black and purple Givenchy dress. Remember this dress.
May 2012: Kim flies to London to see Kanye and Jay's "Watch the Throne" show and according to the New York Daily News, it's because Kim's "trying to do whatever she can to get close to Beyoncé."
June 2012: Bey and Kim go to the final "Watch the Throne" show in Birmingham, England, together and are spotted in the mosh pit. This is the first time they're photographed together.

July 2012: Bey and Kim sit in the same row at the BET Awards with their husbands — who are separating them. Why are they separating them? Shouldn't they be in the middle so they can at least make fun of Samuel L. Jackson's love for Kangol hats together?
September 2012: Bey ignores Kim at the Made in America Festival, according to multiple outlets. A source tells the New York Daily News that "Kim and Beyoncé barely spoke to each other" and watched the show from opposite sides of the stage. "Beyoncé didn't even acknowledge [Kim] was there until the concert was almost over." Similarly, the source says Kim "didn't make efforts to speak to Beyoncé either."
The Huffington Post and TMZ come to the rescue: "They have no reason to not get along," a source claiming to know both Kim and Bey tells HuffPo. "The person who came up with this story has a very wild imagination." Adds a TMZ insider: "They love each other — they talk fashion, family, Beyoncé's baby all the time."
June 2013: Kim reportedly invites Beyoncé to her baby shower, but Bey is a no-show.
October 2013: Kanye proposes to Kim. Everyone, including Rachel Roy, is there. The Carters are not.
May 2014: The Daily Mail reports that Kanye has asked Jay to be the best man at his wedding and according to a family source, the Carters are expected to attend even though Beyoncé "didn't really want to go." A petition (that's mostly for laughs) for Beyoncé to miss the wedding goes up.
June 2014: Kimye get married; Bey and Jay are no-shows, Kanye's longtime associate and BFF Don C steps in for best man duties, according to the Hollywood Gossip.

Kris Jenner later tells Australian radio that Bey and Jay's absence was "the last thing on anyone's mind" during the wedding.
July 2014: Kanye tells GQ he doesn't care Bey and Jay didn't go to his wedding–sort of.
Kim allegedly throws some extremely light (weightless, really) shade at Bey (and Jay) with this photo of Kanye in a ski mask. FYI, this was during the "On the Run" era and the Carters wore ski masks in their promos.

August 2014: When Andy Cohen asks Kim about those Beyoncé and Jay Z divorce rumors, she offers this: "Oh, I don't ... I mean, you just always hope nothing like that's true. And you just wish them the best."
January 2015: The Wests and Carters are spotted on a double date in Los Angeles. It's the first time they've been publicly spotted together since the so-called wedding snub.
February 2015: Kanye clears the air on Beyoncé and Kim's relationship, saying, "They love each other, they respect each other." Kanye, who spoke to Power 105.1, also shares this lovely thought:
February 2015: Bey sits with North and Kim at Kanye's Yeezy Season 1 presentation during New York Fashion Week. Bey posts this photo and choice caption shortly after.

February 2015: Kimye are photographed backstage at the 57th GRAMMY Awards with Beyoncé, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
May 2015: Fans accuse Kim of stealing Beyoncé's Met Gala look from 2012. Kim defends herself and says she was inspired by Cher's first-ever Met Gala gown: "She is so beautiful! So happy I met her!"
April 2016: Beyoncé releases Lemonade and that same evening, Kim posts a ton of photos from a friend's wedding in Miami.
The Beyhive swarms Kim's Instagram account. A few days later, Kim reveals that Bey wore Yeezy items during "Don't Hurt Yourself" and names Beyoncé her Woman Crush Wednesday.

August 2016: Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyonce all party together after the VMAs, along with Alicia Keys and her husband, Swizz Beats, and P Diddy and his lovely lady, Cassie. Oh, and a guy called Steve (who is a CEO, author and former manager of Mary J Blige and Nas—kudos), plus his wife Lauren Branche.
October 2016: A source tells Page Six Beyonce has "never actually liked" Kim Kardashian, commenting: "Beyoncé has never genuinely liked Kim. She's mostly tolerated her because of their husbands' friendship and [their] mutual friends.
"She is always a little icy to Kim. The last time they hung out, the minute Beyoncé could leave the conversation, she did. They always have lots of awkward pauses."
Early November 2016: Kanye West rants about Beyoncé and Jay-Z during Life Of Pablo gig at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, before storming off stage. He said: "In my opinion—now, don't go tryin' to diss Beyoncé, she is great....But sometimes, we be playin' the politics too much and forgettin' who we are—just to win. Fuck winning! Fuck lookin' cool!
"I've been sent here to give y'all my truth—even at the risk of my own life, even at the risk of my own success, my own career. I've been sent here to give y'all the truth. Jay Z, call me, bruh! You still ain't call me! Jay Z, call me! Jay Z, I know you got killers, please don't send them at my head. Just call me! Talk to me like a man!"
November 2016: Kanye West is hospitalised with "extreme sleep deprivation" after erratic behaviour, with TMZ reporting he was struggling to cope on the anniversary of his mother Donda's death.
Late November 2016: Beyoncé apparently urges Jay-Z to mend his friendship with Kanye West, with a source telling The Sun: "When Kanye's mother Donda died, it was Bey and Jay that Kanye turned to. They were his number one comforters, with Beyoncé even playing Connect 4 with him to take his mind off things."
December 2016: Beyoncé holds an intimate birthday gathering for Jay-Z's 47th birthday at Republique in LA, with Kelly Rowland and her husband Tim Witherspoon, Beyoncé's mom Tina and other celebrities in attendance—though Kimye were noticeably absent.
June 2016: Kim didn't attend Bey's push party. But why? Here's Bey's best pal La La Anthony awkwardly dealing with the question on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.
