During the premiere of her new HBO documentary Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again on Wednesday night, the triple-threat performer gave us an inside glance at her first-ever world tour, as well as her highly publicized divorce from husband of seven years Marc Anthony.
Lopez opened up like never before, revealing the heart-rending effects that the dissolution of her marriage had on her family while on the road.
"I remember being on the set and being in my dressing room and not feeling like I could get up in the morning and there's just no pain like that," she explained. "There's no pain or failure like going through a divorce. That hope, that dream, that fairytale, with that first time that dream gets blown to pieces, you feel like you're going to die."
She also revealed that her twins, Max and Emme, struggled with being away from their father while traveling with her on tour. Fortunately, they reunited at its conclusion in Puerto Rico, where Lopez invited Anthony onstage to perform "No Me Ames." Needless to say, it was a brave, bold move.
"There's still love there and I think that's a big statement for people to see," she said. "It says we've moved on and we're healthy….We took this journey and we're better. We survived."
Watch a trailer for the documentary below, and be sure to catch it when it re-airs on HBO. See the schedule here.
