It's a widely acknowledged fact that Britain's real national treasure is Kate Middleton's hair (in addition to those crown jewel things). Those sleek, gloriously free-falling locks have mesmerized everyone from Michelle Obama to Helen Mirren to baby Prince George. Whether in an elegant updo or in loose, unbridled curls, each strand is always in its perfect place, giving hairy hope to regular women everywhere.

So really, it's no surprise that the Internet exploded yesterday when The Daily Mail ran a story about her allegedly graying roots, zooming in on the Duchess's scalp and saying that "pregnancy has been taking its toll" on her beauty regime.

Supporters immediately responded with scathing satire, proving once more that you cannot blaspheme against the best thing to ever come out of Britain.

For the record, Kate Middleton has a pretty minuscule amount of gray for a brunette in her 30s, and many women choose not to color their hair while pregnant due to safety concerns. And it goes without saying that their silvery presence does nothing to tint her aura of perfection.

Lesson learned.
