Please don't panic, but it appears as though the NFL are trying to start drama with Adele. And it's like, if we need to choose between football and sobbing to "Someone Like You," we're always gonna choose the latter.
Anyway, here's the deal: Adele spends a lot of time chatting to her audience at concerts. We know about the time her credit card got declined, her love for Beyoncé, and fact that she can no longer eat pizza—but Adele recently revealed that she turned down a Super Bowl offer from the NFL.
"First of all, I'd like to say that I'm not doing the Super Bowl," Adele told L.A. on Saturday. "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really put on…I don't dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no."
The thing is, the NFL and their BFF Pepsi has come forward being all, "Sorry, who's this 'Adele' you speak of?"*
*Not actual quote.
"The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."
Um, okay, fine, but really the only comment anyone should be making here is: "Yes, we begged Adele to perform and we continue to beg, the end."
