Kylie Jenner's Platinum Hair Was Actually an Accident

Not so much the color she originally asked for.

Kylie Jenner dyed her hair platinum blonde right in time for New York Fashion Week, which is a pretty bold move because 1) blondes allegedly have more fun, and 2) She typically reaches for a wig.

But hold up, there's more to Kylie's white-hot look than meets the eye. Turns out she intended to dye her hair a slightly less epic shade.

"I actually didn't mean to go platinum," she recently revealed. "I really wanted a nice, honey dirty blonde and when we started bleaching it, it got so light so fast and I was like 'Wow, my hair is not damaged, I can do this.' So I went for it."

Kylie typically opts for wigs because her hair was damaged after years of dye: "Wigs are just SO much easier because I change my mind so much and this way I'm not damaging my hair," she said on her app. "Constantly changing up my style makes me feel creative and it helps me with my confidence."

She also opened up about dealing with damaged hair on Snapchat, saying "The top of my hair is, like, kind of destroyed from my bleach, so I'm really, like, self-conscious about it."

Considering this is what Kylie's hair looks like now, we're thinking all that TLC worked 💯 .
