ICYMI, Rihanna was named the 2017 Harvard Humanitarian of the Year thanks to her charity work—which is completely well-deserved. And, in case you needed another reason to love her, the philanthropic singer delivered an extremely inspiring speech at Tuesday's ceremony.
"So I made it to Harvard. Never thought I'd be able to say that in my life, but it feels good," she began, before getting into the nitty gritty of her desire to make a difference. "All you need to do is help one person, expecting nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian... You don't have to be rich to be a humanitarian, you don't have to be rich to help somebody. You don't have to be famous, you don't even have to be college educated.... But it starts with your neighbor. The person right next to you. The person sitting next to you in class. The kid down the block in your neighborhood. You just do whatever you can to help in any way that you can."
You don't have to be rich to be a humanitarian, you don't have to be rich to help somebody.
