Since 2010, Diane von Furstenberg has channeled her persona of female empowerment into an awards show at the end of the annual Women in the World Summit at the U.N. The queen of fashion has honored powerhouse women Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey with the lifetime achievement award in 2011 and 2012, respectively — the same award that will go to Good Morning America's Robin Roberts this year. DVF chose the Good Morning America co-anchor for her constant display of strength throughout her breast cancer battle in 2006 and during treatment for a rare blood disorder this past year.

Model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova will also receive the Inspiration Award for her work with the Naked Heart Foundation to help children in her native Russia.

Each DVF award recipient receives $50,000 from The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation for her cause, which amounts to roughly 142 of the designer's signature wrap dresses.
