MOVIES: What To Watch

THE BRITISH IMPORT: DEATH AT A FUNERAL (Matthew Macfayden, Rupert Graves) Only the Brits could make mourning this funny. Daniel (Macfayden) wants a respectable wake for his deceased father, but his plans are shattered by a pompous brother, a guest on hallucinogenic drugs, and a dwarf who holds a destructive secret. In the immortal words of Daniel's mother: "Tea can do many things, but it can't bring back the dead."

THE WAR FLICK: RESCUE DAWN (Christian Bale, Steve Zahn) An American fighter pilot (Bale) becomes a prisoner of war in Vietnam and hatches a Shawshank Redemption-ish escape plan. Based on the true story of Dieter Dengler, the movie is passionate, brutal, and even funny in places-everything you've come to expect from madman director Werner Herzog.

THE MOB COMEDY: YOU KILL ME (Ben Kingsley, Téa Leoni) What do you get when you mix two parts vodka with Buffalo and the Polish mob? The most spot-on dark comedy you'll see all year. When alcoholism gets in the way of his hit-man job, Frank (Kingsley) is sent to AA. Not to worry-love interest Laurel (Leoni) and sponsor Luke Wilson help him recover so he can get back to killing people already.
