Spring Fever: Yellow Nails

Dara Adeeyo of Dark Berry Beauty's favorite thing for spring is bright, yellow nail polish.

The weather is getting warmer and I've got a mild case of spring fever. Well, at least my nails do. In all honesty, I hate spring — pollen, dust, flowers, insects, no thanks. Please, let's fast forward to fall. Alas, my nails are feeling the sudden temperature rise in Carnaby Street ($17.50), a poppy yellow lacquer from nails inc.

Yellow was definitely the it-color last spring, both on the runway and on celebs like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. This year, the dazzling shade shows no signs of falling out of popularity. It's bright and right on board with the ever-so-cool neon trend. I love having yellow nails because every time I look down at my hands, I have a reason to smile.

To achieve this vibrant hue, I had to apply three coats of polish. This color is suitable for a creative workplace, but if yours is more traditional, this shade of yellow may not be quite right. I suggest a lighter yellow like Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road ($16). The paler variety won't draw too much attention to your nails, but it packs enough punch to warm your spirits.

What's your favorite spring nail color?
