Last night, Joanna Coles' assistant Sergio Kletnoy and I checked out the Cinema Society screening of W.E., Madonna's film about Wallis Simpson and the modern-day woman (played by former MC cover girl Abbie Cornish) who is obsessed with her. I went in with no expectations, having heard mixed reviews, but I've got to say that I really loved it!

Although a bit long, I loved how Madonna took a different approach to Wallis' love story with the former king. It's not a fairy tale (he's forced to give up everything for the love of his life!), and it's not even about everything — his title and his reputation — that he had to give up to be with her. Instead, Madonna focuses on Wallis and what she had to give up through marrying David. It was moving and oftentimes sad, but it felt real and honest. I enjoyed it, as did Sergio (he may be Madonna's No. 1 fan, no joke).

Oh, and did I mention that Valentino, Julian Schnabel, Steven Klein, and Patti Smith were all in attendance?!

Anyway, below is what I wore to the screening and after-party.

Stella McCartney top, Helmut Lang slacks, and Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Stella McCartney plastic pink clutch.

Frieda and Nellie vintage bracelets (my new obsession!).
