Before heading off to Singapore, I had heard that the country's two favorite pastimes were shopping and eating. I thought to myself, How perfect, I'm an overachiever in both! However, I have to admit — I was a tad concerned about the shopping over there. From what I had researched, Singapore seemed all about high-end international designers and huge shopping malls.

But, I am always up for a challenge, especially when it comes to shopping. So, I hit the streets determined to discover the unknown shopping scene in Singapore. And I am thrilled to report to you that if you do your homework (which I happen to do for you), you'll find a world full of young, creative designers who have a strong, unique (and, ahem, affordable) point of view when it comes to fashion.
