"Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound." This is from the woman who makes a simple white shirt look profoundly beautiful ("It's a security blanket of sorts") is especially resonant. But Carolina Herrera, a Studio 54 alum, also has a keen eye for fun. "Fashion can be incredibly serious and starved for amusement," she says. "But not here." Indeed, Herrera's joyous lovers' print for the resort season is testament to the fact that after 32 years in business, she's still the life of the party.
"Apart from being a friend, Andy [Warhol] spoke to a generation in a language previously unknown. It would be near impossible not to be encouraged and influenced by his work."
