What's New at Gucci

Spring/summer accessories are here; and how better to remember to leave your sweaters at home than with Gucci's Joy Boston Bag? Covered in leather cutouts and various metallic bedazzlies, this construction will no doubt send even your strongest wool-blends running (quite literally) to intensive care.

The white GG logo print is fresh and sweet for spring "inextricably linked to the uplifting mood of the season," says the bags designer and Gucci Creative Director, Frida Giannini. Now juxtapose studs, stones and trimmed lux black croc and you're sending mixed messages - traditional innocence meets pure novelty.

Though I fear the white leather will turn "grubby" in a matter of nano-seconds, the bag's menagerie of bells and whistles - origami stars, stencil-cut flowers, and set-in jewels - are well worth any necessary scrubbing. Plus, who says embellishment can't be practical. Gucci's eminent bowler-style bags have long been the working-girls savior?light and feminine, yet malleable and sturdy with enough space for all the necessities (lipstick, wallet, and lint picker).

Gucci's Joy Boston Bag is available at Saks.
