With Manhattan's daytime temperatures up in the pleasantly balmy 70s (!), it's out with seasonal affective disorder and in with summery new clothes. And Raf Simons' beautifully bold colorblocked looks for Jil Sander are on every style-phile's hit list this season.
Problem is, even Simons' simple white tees and transparent totes are pretty pricey. Enter Emily Sugihara's eco-chic, foldable nylon BAGGU carryalls. Ideal for grocery shopping, gym-going, and traveling, these totes may have utilitarian purposes, but I was bowled over by how Jil-like some of the available prints and patterns appeared. At at $6 for the Baby BAGGU and $8 for the full-sized model, Emily's bags are clearly a far more affordable option.
I test-drove the navy-and-white version at a Tribeca Film Festival screening, pairing it with a similarly colorful ensemble. How do you think it stacked up to the Jil Sander original?
As an added bonus, these bags are waterproof — meaning even if you get caught in a spring shower sans umbrella, your tote won't get trashed. Click on over to baggu.com to order a BAGGU (or two) of your own!
