Love Day at Cartier

Love Day at Cartier

Cartier Love DayBraving the ominous skies, Eva Mendes teetered into the Cartier mansion on Fifth Avenue Thursday morning to help the iconic French jeweler celebrate its fourth-annual Love Day initiative. The actress, no stranger to Cartier nor its charitable programs, was enlisted to participate having been a Catier Love Charity ambassador for The Art of Elysium, which encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions.

Mendes was joined by Frédéric de Narp, president and CEO of Cartier North America and Jennifer Howell, founder of The Art of Elysium. Accessorized with more than $110,000 worth of yellow gold, rose gold and diamond Cartier jewels (including her own Trinty star ring with diamonds), Mendes introduced a new Love Charity bracelet available in Cartier stores worldwide with proceeds benefiting 24 charities, including The Art of Elysium. The new bracelet features a miniature Love bracelet in 18-karat rose gold graced with the word "Love" and one diamond set into a knotted silk cord available in various colors (navy for The Art of Elysium), with each cord designating support of a unique cause. It is available for sale starting June 11 for $700 at Cartier boutiques nationwide with $150 per bracelet benefiting its corresponding charity. Additionally, on Love Day, June 11th, 10 percent of all sales from the entire Love collection benefited the partnered organizations.

Earlier this year, Cartier helped The Art of Elysium, with which it has a profound relationship, announce that their creative arts programs would be coming to children’s hospitals in the New York area and helping them break ground with their first workshop in New York. Mendes, along with de Narp and Howell, stopped by Mount Sinai Hospital following the press conference to host a workshop with children where they created acrylic paintings to express their idea of Love. Cartier donated all art supplies for the workshop, which was led by local artist Melinda Buie.

Over the past three years, Cartier has donated more than $4.5 million to 24 global charities from the sales of its Love Charity bracelet.
